Help to change screen resolution?

ok so i had to restore my computer and after everything was re-installed i could not change the screen resolution its all the way at 800 by 600 were i want it to be 1280 by 80 and it won't let me so can anyone help with my massive grandma text?

When you restored your PC, it is using the wondows standard VGA drivers. You need to install the drivers for your video card (onboard/PCI card) This will give you the additional resolutions you had before.
