Gaming disadvantages to 64-bit vs. 32-bit?
Posted in Hardware on July 29th, 2008
I wanted to know if there are any gaming disadvantages if you get a 64-bit Vista with 4GB RAM Vs. a 32-bit with 32-bit RAM. Can games not made for 64-bit still play? Do they run a lot slower? What exactly is a 32-bit and 64-bit and how are they different?
Answer:
I game on 64 bit Vista and it works fine. Many games (such as crysis) have a 64bit mode.
Answer:
For gaming at the moment (2008) the ideal OS to get is 32-bit Windows XP as it runs all games which vista can run and most which vista can't. If you want to find a way to play games that are 'vista only' you can find multiple work arounds to get it to run on DirectX 9 just search. Report Abuse
