It depends on what speed it is, and also how much RAM you have.

For Windows 2000 Professional:

For Windows XP:

Note: You can also try Ubuntu. It's free. But it is not recommended if you don't know exactly what it is.

Good luck!

Answer:
Windows XP MIGHT** work, but its not guaranteed. It really depends on with P3 you’ve. Whats the speed? To be safe, i would get Windows 98, but you could try XP, it isnt a demanding operating system..

Vista wont work with your personal, and neither will most Linux OS's. Email me your personal specs and i can tell you if you can use XP.

Answer:
Windows XP (SP2… NO SP3) with all bells and whistles turned off and only if you’ve at least 256Mb of RAM… other ways you’ll suffer unbearable latencies due to data caching to swap. (512Mb or more, if you intend to run memory0hungry software).

Answer:
I would try WinXP if your processor is at least a 500mgz processor and at least 256megs of ram (512megs would be better)

i have a friend who uses WIN XP with a 300mgz and 128 ram and it is SLOW but it works.

Answer:
i think the ideal is win98. the stipulations of win98 matches perfectly to pentium3 pc's.

Answer:
