I think my computer is messed up it runs really slow and it keeps asking to grant some bs it is driving me crazy I can't do anything on it and when I want to leave a site it deletes everything and I’ve to start all over! My computer was in storage for 9 months and I think the heat messed it up so I would like to wipe it clean and begin fresh I have the cd to reboot it but I don't know how to do it I’m not very personal friendly either!
Answer:
1) as the other user stated, you might boot from your restore media, and install windows again(first the windows cd and then the drivers).
before doing anything, format your partitions if you want to.
(fat32 or ntfs file format)
then, after setting up your network and securing it, you might want to update your windows and drivers.
then install a firewall, an av, and a program that is compatible with your av, that would do things like check your system, save backups, clean your disk, repair your registry, clean your caches and stuff.
i have zone alarm security suite and iolo system mechanic, they run together with no conflict and really keep my 4 years-old laptop in pretty good shape. it is even better than when i purchased it.
and definitely, do your own stuff don't let others do it because when you face a problem you'll have to call those who helped you before to help you out again. there is no way for you to know about your personal if you let others do it.
by the way, this order of setups as i told you is very important. it will save you a lot of time if you do it in this order.
2) you might as well restore your personal to a previous checkpoint. there might be one that your personal has saved that is preferable. but that wouldn't pep up your computer as a new installation of the operating system
–How to do it:
1. Back up your system
2. Save the backup in the partition where there is no operating system installed(in general the D partition). you might as well save it in an external hdd
3. Insert your reboot cd.
4.Restart your personal
5. Normally when you restart your computer if you see the bios screen then you can just wait. But if you don't see anything and your computer immediately proceeds to initiate the operating system(when you see windows logo with the progress bar starting for instance), then right after restarting your personal, when it shuts down and turns on again, press esc repeatedly until a the reboot option screen is seen. (the key you’ve to keep pressing might be f5 or f2 or some other f- key, depending on your pc or laptop)
6. When you see the options select reboot from cd(the second option among two) by using the “down” arrow.
7.Press enter
From then on the computer will lead you.
By the way, make sure you have the dirvers cd. if you don't have the driver cd's, you can download them from your personal vendor's website. But you may have to save them into a cd in iso format cause it will ask you for a cd.
Answer:
First back up your data. After that just put in the drive the operating system CD and start the personal.Make sure in the bios you’ve the boot priority to CD rom first. From the CD you can format the drive and re install windows.
