Defragmentation help!!!?

Posted in Desktops on July 14th, 2008

I’ve just finished a disk fragmentation on my computer (Windows Vista) using JKDefrag. When it had finished however, it showed that instead of clearing space on my hard drive, it created about 20 GB more!

Is this normal or do I need to do something else to clear up this space?

Answer:
Well, it shouldn't do that, but some space it can't defrag because they are system files, or Vista creates “restore points” so you can rollback your Vista if something happens, and that takes up space.

Answer:
Obviously JKDefrag is a freeware program that installed addons.

Why did you not use the Windows Vista Defrag?

If it does not work you’ll need to disconnect from the World wide web and disable any Antivirus etc programs.

Who needs a third celebration defrag program when Windows already has it.

Answer:
Vista has it's own defrag option. go to control panel, then system and maintanence, administrative tools, then click the defragment your hard drive option. it might help
